Home Trends : Bigger Isn't Better
In a new market research study by Barclays, entitled "The New American Home," the idea is posited that today's home-buyers, changing 40 years of past buying behavior, are now primarily interested in Quality over Quantity.

Reversing the excessive buyer mentality of the 1980's and '90s, where 5,000 square foot 'McMansions' were all the rage, future home-buyers may now be more interested in smaller footprints with multi-use spaces and upscale finishes.
The trend is led by retiring BabyBoomers and empty-nesters choosing to down-size, and Millennials, who are opting for stylish and pricier urban locales closer to work.
